After getting kicked out of the school I had been attending for a while, I was really broken up about it. I felt like they had been a family to me, and no longer wanted me. I felt abandoned, and I wanted to express how I was feeling and how I believe many people feel at one time or another. That's when I started working on 'Decampment'.

‘Decampment’, ‘Little Boxes’ and mostly recently, ‘Places that Don’t Exist’ are all personal work. To me, at first, they were a means of coping. They have kind of grown with me, helping me express whatever is going on with my life.

In a way, these images are very much about growth and change, especially the newest series. Our landscape is constantly changing, places we once saw are disappearing. My work is always about how relative landscape/ structure and human experience/ emotions are. We change, the places around us change, things are frequently changing.
