My
heart races when I start to think about vintage styling. There's
something about the old world that gets me into a creative frenzy. The
regal and formal 1800's and 1900's, the roaring 20's, elegant 30's,
gentle 40's, glamour 50's, fun 60's, hip 70's, MTV 80's, grunge 90's;
name an era and I'll play along with it. In this way, vintage styling has become my area of specialization for portraits or fashion, or a merging of both. It's like playing dress up and reenacting that time but throwing in a modern twist for a fresh interpretation of that era. Fun is the key word, but I also definitely like to be in the driver's seat when I'm shooting. While I can do some hair, makeup and wardrobe styling myself, I always prioritize finding the right people for this. These aspects can make or break the whole look of a shoot. I have been extremely lucky to find a great hairstylist/MUA with whom I've collaborated on multiple occasions both for personal projects and with clients. |
