Though he sees digital as a powerful medium, it’s also a blank slate. “Digital has more info in the file and less grain, and the real trick is being able to bring a file back,” through postproduction. “I work a lot on trying to get a reaction,” he says. “There’s such a heavy push toward what you’re shooting in fashion, but that doesn’t need to be asked. I don’t want people to automatically know what I’m shooting. It degrades the image.” |
