Get used to it, you aren't
going to catch a break. You are a guy who
wants to take photos of a cute girl in as little clothing as you can
talk her out of. It isn't art, it's exploitation. The title of this
article is a direct quote from an artist who thought it shocking that
"scantily clad young ladies in high heels" were walking around the
studio complex where I was working at the time. The painters and
potters didn't like the dear young things wandering through the halls
to and from the bathroom. The specific outfit in question is the one on this page, and the girls often wandered past the drawing studio wherein naked artist's models posed. Is it a bum rap? Is it unfair that you're labelled a pervert? Unfortunately, all too often it's not, but more on that in a moment. So, just what is Glamour? Wikipedia says it "is the photographing of a model (nowadays usually female, often nude or semi-nude), in a way that is intended to be erotic." A photographer friend of mine described it as "In glamour the model says 'F--- me' while in fashion the model says 'F--- you'" Me, I think that glamour photography is about the model, it's a subset of portraiture where you aren't trying to capture the subject, you're trying to capture a universal theme... OK OK the theme is sex, get over it. |
