Welcome to the fraternity of GWC or "guys with cameras", also known as DOM or "dirty old men". It's a big family, and as digital photography is taken up by more and more people, it's getting even bigger. An entire industry is dedicated to you and your hobby. In the physical world there's the print magazines of course, from the "Lad Mags" such as FMH, Maxim, and UMM, which seem to be the male equivalent of Cosmo, to the "Men's Mags" like Playboy. For the photographer there's countless workshops to attend and studios to rent, all catering to guys who like to take photos of pretty girls.
But it's the virtual world of the internet where the real weight of the industry is felt. It's the modeling portals that are the engine supplying the current explosion of glamour photography. A website like OMP (onemodelplace) has over 100,000 models and almost 20,000 photographers listed, with 2 million emails flying between models and photographers each month. This is not your typical fashion agency world where models and photographers are hired by clients. There probably aren't 10,000 models in all the agencies in North America, let along 100,000 on a single website. No this is the world of photographers hiring models directly. It's a closed system of guys with cameras taking pictures of young girls. It's the dirty old man and the scantily clad young lady in high heels.
