As I mentioned, this is the Final Project from my MA in Fashion and Film. I wanted to comment on how wrongly romantic comedies present relationships, I wanted to tell stories of real life couples, to present the relationships the way they are.
As I have been mainly working in self portraits all these years, it came naturally to make my couples using myself. Also the fact that my Thesis was on gender and identity and I included the Gender Performativity theory of J. Butler, helped decide the project.
It was a challenge to represent both the male and female part in the same picture.
