This is a small collection of photos taken of friends during our too-far-between visits. They exist outside of any conceptual shoot - they are souvenirs of the unique moments we share where we are all equipped with cameras - photographing each other, ourselves, and our environment. Observing how the other interprets the landscape. It is so refreshing for me to be able to shoot someone other than myself, let alone people that inspire me and that I hold so dear. I feel quite isolated in my city - those that I feel most kindred to live far away, so to have this evidence of our time together means a great deal to me. Crisp winter air, forest floors and buildings rotting and rife with history are my associations with them. My friends, and the environments that we are drawn to, will always be the perfect subjects. It is a natural extension of our friendships. |
