For me these images are very personal, though some more than others.  I'd always taken self portraits, but suddenly it became a way to express myself and my opinions, as well as being therapeutic and I really enjoy it though I do photograph other people at times. Any final advice for young photographers? Yes you do have a lot of competition, you might not make a lot of money but it's the same with most industries at the moment. Bearing that in mind, do what you want to do!
