I call what I do conceptual portraiture, the majority of it is self portraiture. At the moment it's me sat in the corner of my bedroom, which is my 'studio'.

I've always loved portraiture, though I had a landscape/macro phase as I was shy and hated bothering others. I think that's why self portraiture became something I started to do more, as it was about pushing myself to do things that sometimes I felt uncomfortable with. I've gone off and done other projects, but now I think self portraiture is where I'm staying for a while, though I would love to do a project on someone else too.

When I was in college I loved Tim Walker, as I really wanted to be a fashion photographer for a while. I  like Nikki S. Lee, Gillian Wearing, Trish Morrissey and Erwin Olaf's work.

Generally my ideas arrive either in the shower or on a walk to or from work. Looking at work on various websites including tumblr inspires me as well as just going out and seeing shows. I look at every kind of photography, and just seeing what other people are getting up to motivates me to get on and do my own thing.
