I don’t make a very comfortable living out of my work. Sales can be sporadic and centered around specific installations. I don’t want to return to the commercial world, so I teach photography part-time...another passion of mine.
My hints or tips to those who want to work as any type of professional photographer, be it fine art, photojournalism or fashion etc… stay passionate and stay hungry. Some of my favorite photographers such as Edward Steichen, Eugène Atget, Julia Margaret Cameron or modern masters such as Jerry Spagnoli have all faced their challenges and demons but a pure, unshakable vision has ultimately steered their course.
I think that if I never ‘make’ it, the ride was worth it.
