I've always been interested in portrait photography, but shot
more urban landscape, design oriented images earlier in my career. Today, I still approach portrait sessions from a design perspective, taking notice of all the details of wardrobe, backgrounds, props, body language.

Nadav Kander, Dan Winters, Martin Schoeller and Olaf Blecker are all photographers I admire. Like most creatives, I draw inspiration from many places - prop shops, vintage stores, architectural antique lots, hardware stores, music. I've never really thought about it before, but even as a portrait photographer, I probably draw most of my inspiration from things other than people.
