Douglas Ethridge : return
I have a good photo friend, Keith Johnson. He's got the MFA education and is a funny, creative fellow in spite of it. Years ago he said this to me: "are we breaking new ground?" And I think if there is any over-arching aesthetic in my work it is exactly that. Always, try to make something new that I have not made before.

Now that I'm almost an old guy, I have a new line devoid of intellectual mumbo-jumbo. The images I make are an interpretation of the way I see a particular slice of the world at a particular moment in time. It's just that simple.

My advice to the younger generation is to be stubborn, be bold and do have at least a couple of other ways you can earn some money!
