I started out shooting social pages for magazines and covering parties back in the day of film cameras… you never really knew what you would get, so you had to be more selective, know your equipment and how to adjust its settings to suit any given environment. This helped me a lot in the early days. I now focus on fashion editorial… I like creating something that appears for a brief time, you shoot it, capture it for all time and then it disappears again. I think that is where the artistry lies in photography. Sunsets and landscapes are repeatable events… the sun and conditions can come together on a landscape as little as 24hrs later, try reproducing a fashion editorial with 15 different creative inputs, energies and personalities… it’s virtually impossible to reproduce that same situation… caught one–off in a single frame.

Although my early inspiration came via the rich natural locations and the extraordinary light of Australia, I have further developed my emotive style in the cutting edge photography markets of Europe and the United States, where I now regularly cover the New York and LA Fashion scenes.

Photographers I appreciate include David Sims, Bill Henson, Ryan McGinley, Rankin and Bruce Webber.
