Any stories about your early career? I became James Gandolfini’s photographer through an odd turn of events and went on vacation with his family. Shot the whole thing, made him a book out of it. Great guy. Then accompanied him to the Venice Film Festival. Shot it all. When I got back, I sent some frames to Wireimage and told them I should shoot for them. They agreed. I have freelanced for them since that day, in 2005. Big break… What are your areas of specialization now? For my day job, I shoot for Getty Images and Wireimage. Entertainment photography—events, concerts, celebrity-driven stuff. I have shot everyone you can think of and been in some fascinating (and some not so fascinating) situations. I was one of the two house photographers for the “Concert for Obama” in D.C. during the innaguration. It was pretty cool even for jaded old me. |
