I started developing an interest in photography when I took it as an elective during university in 2005. I had a black and white studio project, and my concept was based on a TIMES magazine article, about the "Women Behind the Veil" in middle eastern countries deprived of rights and respect. I was really inspired by the use of darkness and shadows in the article photographs, and it got me immensely interested in photography as a powerful medium for expression and conveying thoughts.
