Apart from the day-to-day photography I do, where a certain something in an image makes me want to elaborate, a lot of the more composed projects come from bits of text or sentences that pop into my head, usually in bed as I'm falling asleep. For example, the sentence "I only stalk you because I care" once popped into my head and sparked off a whole installation project, exhibited earlier this year in London. Or one day spontaneously writing an erotic short story inspired from experience that led me to develop the publication "XI and la Gueule du Monde".

Most of the time, work comes from heartache or frustration: I have a delicious little masochistic streak that devilishly pushes me to create something from the pain. Better than self-mutilation I reckon...
