I have been interested in the concept of escape in many different forms for a very long time.  It is a concept that I base much of my work around.  I enjoy art as a means of escape from the mundane which is why I aspire to make beautiful images and why I work in a narrative form.

When I thought of the idea for this series of photographs, I was on a prop gathering trip at a craft store and I saw this cheesy model of the HMS Bounty on the shelf.  My imagination took over from there, I based the pictures loosely on the story of the Bounty itself, but the intention is certainly not to illustrate the actual story of the ship.
