The Prom Queen

I'm a full time photographer, 24/7.

My best hint is that photography has to be the only thing you want to do. It cannot be a phase or a passing interest; it has to be without any doubt the only thing you want to do. If there is something else you like just as much, then keep photography as a hobby and make money doing something else.

I shoot mainly in Asia at the moment. One of my better clients now is Ports 1961. I have also shot for MacDonald’s, Addidas, and Nike for commercial work. I have several regular catalog clients and shoot for a variety of magazines, Elle, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Maxim, Catalog magazine, Vision, RACk and a cool little magazine in Russia called LE. There is a magazine group in Shanghai called Modern Weekly; I shoot a lot with them.

Future wise I would like to be shooting with more European magazines – ID, Italian Vogue, Another magazine, POP, Numero, Citizen k to name a few!

For potential clients I would like to say – send me a friggin email! and lets have a coffee! I like to meet with potential clients, even if it doesn’t immediately result in anything. I like fashion because of the wide variety of people and characters and I work best when I have a good chemistry going with the whole shoot team. You need to meet and talk and see if the ideas just fly or if you are trying to come up with something to say.

5 years from now I will still be in Shanghai, but I hope traveling even more with my work – a more solid client base would be nice.
