The Playboy After university I modeled for 10 years. I combined some of my model traveling with shooting for travel magazines, but ultimately I found my real passion shooting fashion. It is often mistakenly assumed that I become a photographer because I was a model. I became a model to travel and was a photographer long before that. I became a professional photographer because it was clearly the profession I wanted above all else and will be happy to practice for the rest of my life. I am self-taught. I of course had a pretty good base of knowledge from my amateur interest. However, once I made the full commitment to photography as a profession I purchased a HUGE stack of books and woke up every day and treated it like I was going to school. I studied the books, made notes, then went out there and tested myself on it by just shooting and learning. I felt the use of my finances was better directed in this way than going to school. |
