I make a living from my photography and post production work. I also have a luxury event imaging company and that's starting to take off as well. I'm not sure what to say about making a living in this biz. Honestly, I think photography is for rich kids now. The expenses are so high..... it's $ to travel around.... shoot new editorials (because most of the cool mags don't pay)... test... make copies of your book.... computers... hard drives... promoting... le book pages... digital cameras.... scanners.. printers.... ink... paper...... retouching...... it just goes on and on. Then of course, each few years you have to buy a new computer..... camera.... because the technology changes! I have 3 agents with a total of 8 portfolios to update with all my new work.... websites to create and maintain... lighting to buy or rent.... labs...... and then of course you have your office expenses..... and like everyone you have normal living expenses. So yes, it can be tough to survive long enough to get things rolling. I think assisting and testing are very important for young photographers.

In 5 years I see myself directing commercials, documentaries, films.... and surfing with my family in Bali. Sic Itur Ad Astra....... Such Is the Path to the Stars... and that will be mine.
