It didn’t occurr to me to pick up a camera until I moved to Montreal 7 years ago (I’m originally from the UK). I wasn’t allowed to work for the first year until I was ‘official’ so I had a lot of time on my hands and not a lot of money to do things with. I remember speaking to my dad in England saying that I was disappointed for not having carried a camera with me while I was traveling. A few weeks later I got a parcel in the mail. It was one of his old cameras that he used to use for his own photography work.

I started using my days visiting and photographing less obvious places in Montreal that were a little industrial and derelict.
