This white dress...is
singled out and old equal to couture? My personal work usually takes over my assignments as well unless the fields are completely separate from each other. My models, while making fashion statements are being photographed as human beings... existing in a story, in a concept. While I go into the sessions with certain ideas, I try my best to keep my models relevant as dramatic elements, instead of having a detached approach towards them. These shots are, more than anything, portraits of a young girl with certain sensibilities...and those characteristics are being mixed with fashion and the general mood of the set. She is real while she is modeling hence the fashion is real, in a real imperfect setting. Aside from agencies and modeling sites, I enjoy immensely finding real everyday people (with potential) off the streets and shaping them into fashion models. The raw energy and excitement on their part pours into the session. It can be a risky choice but the final results at the end of successful sessions make it all worth it. I also love dancers. |
