Through photo-sharing on the internet I have become very inspired by the work of other similar minded photographers - some who photograph their pets or landscapes, some who do self-portraits, some who do both... particularly the female self portrait artists, as their work can be directly inspiring. Other people who have 'cloned' themselves in their images motivated me to make more of them when I first started on the internet photo-sharing scene.

People always mention Cindy Sherman to me, remarking that my work has a similar ethic. I also came across the work of Julia Fullerton-Batten, who is extremely inspiring, using surrealism in the way I aim to use it. Certain artists on Flickr (relevant self-portrait ones only, here, not a definite list): Solea, Agnieska, _rebekka, LaraJade, DrJoanna, !!!Monika!!!,... have been very much part of my inspirational internet photo-sharing experience.

As far as mentors go, my boyfriend who I met recently does help in noticing things in my post-processing that I would have otherwise missed; and my American Flickr friend Don Thornhill has been very helpful to me over the last year or so in giving advice and support as well as inspiration.

Cooling Off

This image shows a different side to my photography. The moodiness and desaturation is atypical of my photography's brightness and gaudiness in general.
