Some advice. Getting Models: If you want to be a glamour photographer, you'll need to get models. Before you try doing that, get a portfolio. I know, if you need a portfolio to get models, how do you get models for the portfolio? You get them where you've always got them before, ask the folks you know. Use your girlfriend, your sister, her friends, the girl next door. All you really need is something that shows a potential model that you know one end of a camera from another, that you can compose a halfway decent shot and that your lighting doesn't suck. Now put that portfolio somewhere online and print it up in a little book. Then start sending emails to models online asking them if they'd like to do a "tfp" That's "time for photos" and is code for "you're not going to get paid". After a couple months of no answers you should probably admit to yourself that your photos are crappy and models aren't going to work for you for the shots you can give them. They just can't see your innate genius. So find a couple of good looking models in your area who have great portfolios and email them. Tell them you're just starting out, you're serious about it, and you can afford so much an hour. If one accepts, make sure you show up. If she's good, work with her as often as she'll let you. Now you're on your way. |
