The first time I spoke to Cheshire I think I said something
to the
effect of “your work is the perfect combination of classic and edgy, it
seems meaningful and I would love to be a part of it”. That still
remains true and this collection is my proof. I have never really asked
Robert Cheshire what his art meant, and I think that it is a
combination of me being selfish and also a fear of interpreting his art
the wrong way.
Have you ever spoken with what seemed like infinite clarity and then five minutes later that clarity becomes foggy with what seems like holes in the reasoning? That’s what this collection does; it’s a challenge on so many levels. One year ago if someone had asked me what the female figure in art meant to me, it would not have taken me a second to say something meaningless, now it means more to me than I have words to express. |
