Like most things in my life, I pretty much just stumbled into photography.  I had a friend of a friend who was working for a local newspaper as a photojournalist and he let me borrow one of his cameras during the summer of 1998. He gave me a quick crash course on exposure and sent me on my way.

I took my first roll of film to a 1 hour photo processing center and quickly realized that I had no clue what I was actually doing but I continued to shoot anyway. I had just graduated from high school and was completely broke and the funds that I had available for film and processing dried up really quickly.
