This is really my early career. I'm 26 now and I was into photography my last year in high school (that's when I got my first camera), but right when I dropped out of the art school I didn't take any photos until about a yeah and a half ago- I mean none. Once I got back into it I was all in. It was like seeing some girl you once had sex with and saying to yourself "what the fuck was I thinking letting you go?!" so now I put a ring on that finger. No big breaks so far, just taking it one day at a time and no disappointments at all. I don't expect shit so everything that's happening is just wonderful, even when people get the dry heaves after seeing a photo, or hearing someone in my family ask why with a look of unease in their eyes. I don't specialize in anything, I guess my specialty is consistently being myself. The best compliment I've been paid was overhearing someone say "that looks like Kevin Hayes took it".. well, that and someone told me "you make Minnie Mouse look like a slut" that was really the best compliment.
