I am actually a very haphazard
designer. Over the years, I've become intimate with the shape and fit
of a piece, so oftentimes I use patterns I've drafted beforehand and
manipulate them as I cut. I find that when I do get inspired it comes
so fast that I have idea after idea and can sew for days without even
realizing or having the time to think about where its coming from. I'd
say I usually create a simple piece that was inspired by one specific
interesting design feature. I've also travelled a lot throughout the
years and get a lot of the design features from clothing I've never
seen within our borders.
