I took the Fashion Design program at Fanshawe College with no experience in the field prior. I enjoy being creative and clothing seemed like a logical way to be able to do so and earn a living. After all, people may never have the money to buy a painting, but we always need clothes.
My design studio is a small room in the front of my house. I've managed to cram everything I need in there. Racks, sewing machines, a serger, tons of fabric collected over the years. During the days, I pretty much take up the entire floor of the house; fabric and drafting spilling over into the kitchen table, even the kitchen floor if need be. It's very relaxing to work in your own home. I make everything at home by myself. From the drafting/design beginning to the final construction.
