I have two, distinctly different, favourite areas. When I'm at my most creative, ideas come to me as clear images that I then have to get out of my head and into a photograph. I love staging scenes to match my conceptual ideas. These usually tend to involve models and a lot of make-up work. They are very time consuming to create, but also the most satisfying. The frustrating bit is when you don't have enough time or 'mental space' for that kind of creativity to come, that's when these kinds of projects of mine get put on hold.

Another area, which never fails to cheer me up, is food photography. I love using a lot of strong colour and varying textures, and fruit and food is something where these are plentiful. There's also a satisfying process of staging involved in food photography which I very much enjoy.

I think a lot of people would agree that colour is 'my thing'. Even though I do take quite a lot of black & white photographs, people who follow my work always tend to do it for the love of colour. And there's nothing wrong with that. Colour brings a lot of positive energy into my life and I couldn't imagine living without it.
