Primary inspiration is always drawn from nature, especially observing light.  I am constantly looking at the world around me and sketching/developing ideas. Influences include the work of Goethe and various other books on cosmology and science.  I love paintings ranging from Renaissance to Expressionism.

Art films and theatre (especially the lighting) are further influences.

I am fascinated by the work of artists such as James Turrell who create environments in which the qualities and properties of light are replicated and enhanced in front of the viewer.  This is revelatory.

The greatest influence is the inexhaustible reality of light around us.
