Around 15 is when my dad gave me his old Nikon and I started shooting
my friends skateboarding and landscapes around where I lived. Photography was a
hobby until a school counselor told me to think of it as a career. I
went to Europe alone backpacking 8 countries over several months taking
pictures. I came back and applied to Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. From there I served an internship as a lighting assistant at a large magazine, after 3 months of free labor they hired me full time for 3.5 years. I started to freelance assist other bigger name photographers (www.chgphotography.blogspot.com). Now for the last few years I have been making the push to further my shooting. It is an every day battle I am still fighting and learning from. |
