For Do Not Disturb, Niemi checked herself into a number of hotels with a suitcase full of clothes and wigs. She created a range of characters and then photographed herself in each suite. She asks the viewer to consider the disparity between what we show and who we really are.
“We have a tendency to cover up our flaws and decay, hiding all the ugliness of life and I try to have a bit of humor about it” she says.
