I became interested in photography because of the possibilities opened up by digital photography and computer manipulation. I realised that digital technology transformed photography in a very fundamental way. Through computer technology, photography, the medium that was meant to be the death of painting, was now very similar to painting - malleable, infinitely changeable and open to endless revision after the fact. It became much more a medium about hands-on adjustment, and I could bring lots of the sensibilities I have as a painter to photography.
