My father gifted me my first camera (which I still use as my primary camera) when I was 15. His work from an African trip he took as a 20-something greatly propelled me to start taking and continue taking photos. Though I decided to study film in college, I always maintained a healthy interest in photography, taking a number of photo classes and entering some images into contests and submitting to journals.
