Circle

I bought the iron artwork seen in the image from a sculptor in Joshua Tree about 17 years ago.  It has sat in my backyard all that time, and it wasn’t until recently I decided to try to fit into it.  I was feeling more and more alienated from my husband—I felt hemmed in, but amid the anger and grief I also knew I was going to come out of that literal and figurative circle a new person.  A rebirth was in progress.

Photography then took a back seat to music for the next 15 years.  I studied to be a classical flautist at Indiana University’s School of Music, but after graduating, I went in yet another direction—broadcast journalism.  I got a Masters Degree in that field at USC, then set about trying to figure out how to make a living.  For the last 25 years, I have worked as a graphic designer/operator in local TV news, award shows (Academy Awards, Grammys, Emmys, etc. ) reality shows (American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, etc.) and currently, Conan.  I create and play back text animations and graphics during live show productions such as the ones mentioned above.
