Drawing being my ally since childhood, I let myself drift into the third dimension by making plaster portraits in a corner of the studio we shared.

Then came, through random reading, my fascination for insects. Jean-Henri Fabres's Souvenirs Entomologiques would inspire me and accompany me for several years. Plaster and stone slowly faded away to let rusty iron turn into shaggy insects. On the top of a hill near Bordeaux, in Gironde, our house filled up with kids. My activity was taking off, and I needed to take some photos of my sculptures.
