Emily in St. Simon's Island
Although this image is not a
self portrait, I felt like it would be nice to include because it is so
important to me. It's in one of my favorite places on the east coast
during the most dreamy time of the day.
I am specialized in self portraits, if you could consider that a speciality. I think there's a significant difference between a self portrait and a picture of yourself and I can distinguish it pretty clearly.
I don't see my self portraits as just pictures I've taken of myself, it's more that. I am utilizing myself as a model in multiple situations to create interesting compositions. I think all you need to get into self portraits is a tripod (or a makeshift one) and a timer on your camera (although a remote is very convenient!).
