When I shot these pictures, I was going for a soft, gentle look. I had been planning a summery shoot all Winter, so when my stylist, Carmel Daly, asked me about a 'Mother Earth' shoot I was delighted! Carmel made the amazing headpieces and knew exactly what I was going for, we think so alike! The shots were taken on location at Killiney Beach. In conclusion, I try not to let myself fall into the trap of pleasing the eyes of others all the time. If I'm genuinely proud of my work, then no one else's opinion matters! My advice to young people like myself starting out would be to try to shoot more, take your camera everywhere, and make the most of what you've got! With a student budget like mine, I depend on birthdays and Xmases for new equipment! Never postpone your ideas until you have better equipment, because you could be waiting a long time, and it's best to put those ideas into action while they're fresh!
