My approach to photography is inspired by movies.  Even my current color street work, where I'm inspired by the work of Edward Hopper, is inspired by movies as Hopper's work is intertwined with cinematic visualization.

I came to New York with the idea of getting into fashion photography, and what attracted me to fashion was the possibility of creating photographic narratives.  However, I've really just used that as a jumping off point and I'm working now in this mixed bag that draws from cinema, fashion, and street.

Also, it's funny as you get older and these subconscious influences come to the forefront but I find that I'm particularly drawn to things that made an impression when I was a kid, things like those Ektachrome slides, super 8 movies, black and white movies on late night TV.
