I got into art school a year later. I studied for 6 years and graduated with an MA in photography.

During these 6 years I also had times of disappointment and long breaks where I would not take one picture. I guess for some people this is important as you need time to process things in between and it always helped me to focus on something else. I took courses in typography and bookbinding. I worked with images and words. I remember playing around with Polaroids and old snapshot cameras to simplify things and take off some pressure and get back to a more fun and enjoyable place.

I always found my way back to photography. The way they taught in my school was pretty much all about finding your own voice, finding your subject matter and learning how to express and communicate it in weekly critiques. I was granted a scholarship in Dublin, Ireland while I was in college and that was another very important time and inspiration for my work.
