I guess I saw myself also in the fly, crawling around in the nightlife, restless and nervous when I look at it from here. My rhythm was like the flight pattern of a fly, zipping in and out of possibilities, leading to a complete lack of focus. Symbolically I was constantly exposed to the sticky sweet siren call of the carnivorous pheromones that are a dangerous illusion in the end. Lulled into the fangs and the digestive juices of the Venus Flytrap plant, living its life in the food chain. And then the fireflies, well, although our physical appearance may seem one way, it is our internal makings, what is inside us that defines us. Because the firefly is shining from the inside out, just as if it was showing off its interior life and its energy from within. Comic artists often draw a light bulb suddenly turned on when a character has a brilliant idea.  That’s why fireflies also symbolize inspiration and guidance I guess. The natural instinct of a being is to follow the light instead of getting lost in the night. We are looking for lights. Because it’s a Jungle out there!
