On my way to work I walk under this huge railway bridge alongside a canal, it's so gritty and dark, I've always loved it.

Ever since the first time I walked through, I've wanted to shoot there, so finally, after 4 months I decided to bite the bullet and try and make the mess of ideas I had come together.

All of the shots included are from the same editorial, and are all personal work. I just wanted to test myself really, see if I was technically and creatively good enough to make something nice out of such a difficult location. The lighting was abysmal and I spent most of my time half-hanging over water but I'm pleased.

They kind of symbolise a step in the right direction to me. It's the first time I've ever meticulously planned a shoot and it paid off, so hopefully that shows I'm improving!
