Early in
my career I had the opportunity to shoot the Dolby Digital Cinema 3D
campaign. This was a really big deal for me as this was my first large
client. Also, they wanted to be able to do anything with the images so
I had to shoot with the Hasselblad H3 camera. This was a little nerve
racking to me as my only experience with Hasselblad's had been with the
6x6 film cameras and this was a whole other world. I rented the camera
a day ahead of the shoot so that I could get to know the system and be
ready for the next day. The shoot day was huge. There were forty people in the Dolby screening room where we were shooting and the concept was that it was a group of movie goers enjoying a 3D movie with the new Dolby 3D glasses on. Needless to say there were more than a few challenges: lighting the theater to look like it was a dimly lit theater, but still able to read the main models' expression, the reflections in the glasses, processing the HUGE files for the client to look at and approve. I had a digital tech running my computer for the client, and two assistants with me (for lighting). The shoot was really successful and was in all the trade publications and advertisements for Dolby’s Motion Picture Group. Top, Arden B. Sunglasses, RayBan |
