I began to show interest in nutrition at a young age. I have vivid memories of elementary school health classes in which I learned how to read nutrition labels and how to recognize and avoid harmful ingredients like Monosodium Glutamate and Aspartame.

It has taken me a longer time to figure out how to eat in ways that are alternative to the mass-production grocery store mentality. While studying photography as an undergraduate, I began to experiment with ways in which to address food issues in my artwork.

Since then, my knowledge of food politics has progressed alongside my pursuit of art.
