Now I’m here, on the land finally. My name is Sophie living in Tbilisi (Georgia), working and doing some boring job here.

The start was there, when I was trying to understand how to control my old soviet camera, a Zenit ET. A photo camera was for me a good weapon for telling my stories, I used to write stories but then I found that doing it with camera was much more sensible and interesting than with pen. I’ve never worked as a photographer or had any training or schooling. Photography is a therapy for me, which helps me get to know myself better, to find out more things around me and inside me. Everything I do is a self portrait. Maybe that’s why I never worked in a commercial field and I can’t consider myself a photographer.

I used to get inspired with stories created in my mind or I read them in books, heard them in songs or just got them from other people
