Stanislaw Jagiello : return
Tear

About Set Up...

In this particular work I wanted to reflect on staged photography to illustrate the vision I've explained above, to make the viewer think about the possibilities of that kind of expression but not only in fashion or commercial work like most of it these days.

I took as background the five pillars of American literature - New Eden, Lost Eden, Frontier, Wildness and Tear - because it allows the viewer to have an attachment point, something familiar. These themes have so influenced our visual culture they are for me the best way to communicate with the viewer.

But this background is not so important, I don't want to give much explanation because it is essential in this work that the viewer makes his own story. All the elements to understand are there but everyone sees things with a different eye and it's really important to let this happen.
