I came back to New York four years ago, and two years ago some friends and I stared Dossier, a biannual art, fashion and culture journal. The magazine has given me this amazing opportunity to get to work with other photographers, curating the visuals for each issue, and also given me a place to try out and show projects of my own. So between that, the commercial work I do, and showing my own work, I'm incredibly busy these days.
I was speaking with an older woman I know who's an actress and I was saying to her, oh, I haven't had a day off in two months and she said, days off are for people who work at the post office. When you do what you love you don't need days off. I've been trying to keep that in mind when I start to feel overwhelmed - how lucky I am to earn my living doing something creative that I love.
