Fashion Toast

I'm specializing in fashion illustration and I'm so passionate about it! I'm excited about everything that I work on. Fashion illustration has allowed me to not be afraid to experiment with new media and has allowed me to always push the limit. I'm so inspired by other people, traveling, culture, music and art. This all come into play with fashion illustration. I'm illustrating exciting images about the world we live in today and I'm pretty motivated by that.

As a freelance illustrator I do most of my work at my desk. But the beginning stages are focused on research. I love to look through magazines, go to the bookstore, browse the internet or just walk around to find inspiration.

My process is usually the same every time. I start with a pencil drawing then normally shade with graphite on vellum. I combine other things such as watercolor, ink or found textures to the drawing. Then I scan everything I have into photoshop and do the finishing touches there. Basically my process is Traditional meets Digital. I like to mix it up because this makes a fashion illustration fun and unique.

I would say the master of fashion illustration is Rene Gruau. I am in love with his bold line work and gestural images. Illustrators of today that I admire are Laura Laine and Cocopit.
