Death is an essential element of our existence. It means a great deal to us, and brings many emotions with it. I wanted to show how I view life, how important it is to me. I wanted to show it through a medium that is not physically possible, but is understandable to those that view it. In these images, life is symbolized by pure and beautiful colour. It is represented in the form of shadows, silhouettes and physically changed objects solidified into intense colour.
It is important to note that this is not a series based on realism, but rather on beauty. The juxtaposition of beauty / fashion and the macabre of death is important. Each image is meant to be symbolic, in that it helps show how beautiful life is through the model, her pose and her expression.
